Girls Basketball
The Girl's Basketball Program offers girls, grades 5th through 8th, an opportunity to learn the skills and the sport of basketball in an encouraging and supportive environment. Our season begins in October with practices. Depending on the leagues that we join, our game season runs from November through early February. Our coaching staff consists of parent volunteers who enjoy the game. We work to ensure that the girls have fun and play hard while maintaining their grades and representing St. Mary Riverside on and off the court. We encourage any girl with a positive attitude and desire to be a part of a team to sign up for their grade team in mid to late September. Director: Dina Acosta, [email protected] Boys Basketball

Coaches are also needed for the upcoming season. If you are interested in coaching, please reach out to either Ms. Whisson or Mike Hayes. All coaches must be in compliance with all of the Protecting God's Children Requirements in order to coach. If you are not in full compliance, you will not be able to coach. Director: Mike Hayes, [email protected] Co-Ed Track
Track and field is a richly unique sport that promotes both individual performance and team chemistry. Track events are at distances of 50 meters up to 1600 meters. Relay events are comprised of 4 runners and are sometimes co-ed. Field events are long jump, shot put and, at some meets, high jump. Track meets segregate the team as varsity and junior varsity, and boys and girls. We compete in a variety of organized track meets during April and May. A formal sign-up will take place on the Sunday of Catholic School week. However, you can join the team at any time. Runners in grades 3-8 are eligible. I believe you will find the track team enjoyable and it will enhance your other abilities. Coach: Rich Slehofer, [email protected] |
