St. Mary School Walk-A-Thon
Friday, October 4th

We cordially invite you to participate in the 12th Annual St. Mary School Walk-A-Thon that will take place on Friday, October 4th. Funds raised will help St. Mary School support over 350 students, Pre-K through 8th grade, from over 22 surrounding communities and the city of Chicago.

Fundraiser Key Points:
  • Walkathon will take place on Friday, October 4th.  
  • Dismissal will be at 12 Noon.
  • Students will walk with their homeroom on a designated route through Riverside.
  • Each class will be chaperoned by their homeroom teacher and at least one parent volunteer.
  • Every student will receive a Walkathon t-shirt.
  • Every St. Mary family has a $250 Walkathon goal.  Each family reaching the $250 goal will be entered into a drawing for one of three major prizes valued at $500, $300 and $250.
  • For every family that reaches their goal, each student in the family will be entered into their grade-level raffle for an extra chance to win a prize valued at $50!  
  • Contributions must be received by the end of the day Friday, October 4th, to be counted toward the family goal and eligible for prize entries. 
  • Families that raise $500 will be entered into a special raffle for a dinner hosted by Fr. Tom and Fr. Tim! (Date to be mutually agreed upon.)
  • Have a business or know someone that wants their company logo on the back of 400 walking billboards? We are looking for sponsors! Please click here for the sponsorship form.  All sponsorships must be received by September 20. (Does a business sponsorship count toward my family goal? No - Sponsorship of our annual walkathon is a business opportunity for local businesses to advertise on 400 t-shirts that are worn by the school community. Family donations are not the same as business sponsorships.)
  • This year we are once again partnering with Boosterthon, an online platform specializing in helping schools raise more money through customized media content that is easily shared with family and friends.

​Participant Information

Click the button below to fill out an online permission slip. One form will need to be filled in for each child. Family Donations (online or to the school office ) should be turned in on or before October 4th to be eligible for prize drawings.

Every student will get a 12th Annual Walk-A-Thon T-shirt on the day of the walk. These t-shirts are an approved uniform that may be worn throughout the entire school year as part of the gym uniform.

Business & Corporate Sponsorship

Your sponsorship directly supports the event and helps to maximize the funds raised for St. Mary School. 

There are various levels of sponsorship for the St. Mary School Walkathon. All Sponsors will be listed on the back of our special Walkathon 2024 t-shirt. Students and staff proudly wear their Walkathon t-shirts and celebrate the generosity of our sponsors the day of the walk! Additionally, students can wear these shirts as part of their gym uniform through the entire 2024-2025 school year and teachers and staff can wear them on school spirit days.
